Walking Through Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences

走進瓦倫西亞藝術科學城

 

Visiting Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences felt like entering a futuristic landscape grown from the former Turia riverbed, where Santiago Calatrava turns white concrete, steel, glass, water, and sunlight into a continuous architectural language of eyes, bones, wings, trees, and stretched cables.

 

The Hemisfèric frames knowledge as an opening eye, the Assut de l’Or Bridge makes structural forces visible, the Science Museum transforms repeated ribs into a vast civic skeleton, and the Umbracle reinterprets a garden arcade as both promenade and urban threshold; together, their reflections dissolve the boundary between building and landscape, making the complex appear less like isolated monuments than a carefully staged journey between science, nature, movement, and public imagination across an expansive Mediterranean civic stage.

 

青埕團隊來到西班牙瓦倫西亞藝術科學城，其整個區域都是由聖地牙哥・卡拉特拉瓦所設計。菲利普王子科學博物館（Museu de les Ciències），重複白色肋架、混凝土「樹」與玻璃立面，形成鯨骨般的骨骼；感到科學不再被關進盒子，而成為可閱讀、可行走的公共身體。

 

阿蘇特德洛爾橋（Pont de l’Assut de l’Or），後傾弧形主塔與二十九道斜索把受力原理化為造型；它不像跨越舊河床的道路，更像拉緊的豎琴，將科學館、廣場與動線縫成一道輕盈門戶。

 

烏姆布拉克屋頂細部，規律白色拱肋與格柵調節光影和視線，理念不是以厚重屋頂隔絕環境，而是讓天空滲入結構；夕陽勾亮肋架，使理性模數產生如葉脈與羽翼般的生命感。

 

烏姆布拉克廊道（L’Umbracle），以連續拱架覆蓋停車場上方的花園步道，重新詮釋冬園與遮蔭廊道；棕櫚、金屬網格及倒影彼此疊合，使工程設施轉化為公園、觀景台與城市玄關。

 

半球體（Hemisfèric）橢圓外殼、金屬眼瞼與水中倒影共同構成「智慧之眼」，象徵人類以科學觀察世界；黃昏時球形瞳孔被水面補成圓體，感到建築正在城市與宇宙之間甦醒。炎熱的天氣走了一整天，也是團隊該回酒店休息的時刻。
