Lucky Moon Blocks
Double luck and fortune in the divination blocks gashapon
Lucky Jiaobei is a design piece rooted in Taiwanese traditional culture, expressed through symbols of luck, and realized through the sustainable practice of using ocean waste plastic. After a prayer is made and the jiaobei are cast to the ground, the divination blocks and the lucky clover coin together bring the user a double sense of happiness and good fortune.
The work transforms an ancient ritual of blessing and wish-making into an object of good fortune for contemporary life. At the same time, it gives ocean-discarded plastic a renewed purpose as a material that carries hope, symbolizing the possibility of rebuilding a gentler and more responsible connection between people, culture, and the environment.
