A Pendant Light for Piano Practice Rooms

 

This pendant light is designed for a piano practice room, combining lighting with acoustic control. Instead of using a single decorative lamp, the design uses multiple suspended wooden panels arranged at different heights and angles, forming a layered ceiling installation that helps soften unwanted noise and reduce echo.

 

The perforated and solid wood panels work together to break up sound reflection. Their staggered layout prevents sound from bouncing directly between hard walls, while the warm wood texture brings a calm and focused atmosphere to the practice space. Integrated linear lighting is hidden along the lower edges of the panels, providing soft illumination without visual glare.

 

This design is not only a lighting object. It becomes an acoustic layer above the room, supporting clearer piano sound, quieter practice, and a more comfortable environment for both players and listeners.

 

為練琴房而生的吸音吊燈

 

此吊燈以練琴房的聲音需求為出發點，將照明、吸音與空間裝置整合在一起。設計不採用單一大型燈具，而是以多片木質板材懸吊於天花下方，透過不同高度、方向與間距排列，形成如森林般錯落的聲學層次，協助降低雜音與回音。

 

板材包含實木面與穿孔面，實木面帶來溫潤質感，穿孔面則增加聲音接觸面，使鋼琴聲不會在硬牆與平整天花之間直接反彈。錯落排列也能打散聲波方向，讓練琴空間中的聲音更柔和、清楚，不至於過度尖銳或混濁。

 

燈光則隱藏於板材下緣，以線性光源提供柔和照明，避免刺眼，也讓使用者能專注於琴譜與演奏。整體設計不只是裝飾吊燈，而是一個結合聲學、光線與木質溫度的練琴輔助系統，使空間更安靜、集中，也更適合長時間練習。
