Renewing a Traditional Market Craft

 

The redesign of Shin De Noodle Shop begins with respect for its original identity: a long-standing handmade noodle stall inside Taipei’s Shidong Market. Reports note that the shop has supplied noodles, dumpling wrappers, wonton wrappers, rice noodles, and other daily staples for decades, relying on both machinery and the experience of skilled noodle makers.

 

The design keeps the shop approachable and recognizable by preserving its strong yellow visual language, clear product display, and direct market-style communication. Bamboo weaving elements are introduced to connect the space with handmade craft and Taiwanese everyday culture, while a cleaner modern façade improves visibility, hygiene, and order.

 

This is not a decorative makeover. It is a renewal of memory, labor, and trust—allowing a traditional noodle shop to remain familiar, but more open, bright, and contemporary.

 

傳統製麵店的市場新樣貌

 

信德製麵店的改造核心，不是把老店變成陌生的新店，而是讓原本的市場記憶被重新整理、看見與延續。信德製麵店位於士東市場，長年製作陽春麵、牛肉麵、家常麵、拉麵、油麵、河粉、米粉、水餃皮、餛飩皮等日常麵食，是市場中與家庭餐桌緊密相連的職人攤位。相關介紹也提到，製麵雖已有機器協助，但仍高度仰賴師傅經驗與手感。

 

設計上延續原本鮮明的黃色招牌，使老顧客仍能一眼辨認；同時透過更乾淨的立面、清楚的品項資訊與整齊的展示方式，讓攤位從傳統市場的繁忙感中被凸顯出來。吊燈顯示麵粉包裝、竹編元素則呼應手作、篩網與台式日常質感，在現代化整理之外，保留親切、不過度包裝的市場溫度。利用原有元素，以色彩設計融合現代風，打造親民的台式風格。

 

因此，這次改造不是單純美化，而是將「手工製麵、老店信任、市場文化」轉化成更清爽、更明亮、更容易被新世代理解的空間語言。
