A Forest of Light: A Charity Market Installation

 

This exhibition design was created for the Selected Charity Sale of 2017 Taiwan Interior Design Week × Beautiful Relationship. Centered on the idea of rediscovering the original spirit of design, the space transforms an old industrial warehouse into an atmospheric field of giving. The existing roof structure, exposed pipes, and raw architectural texture are preserved, while bamboo sticks, concrete blocks, metal mesh, and warm lighting create a layered spatial landscape.

 

Rows of slender bamboo poles rise like reeds, crops, or gathered people, guiding visitors through the exhibition. The grey blocks above them display the donated selected objects, turning each item from a simple product into a meaningful gesture of care. Translucent mesh partitions define the zones without fully closing them, allowing light, vision, and movement to flow through the space. Through contrasts between roughness and delicacy, industry and craft, display and interaction, the installation creates a warm charity market where design becomes a connection between people, objects, and social goodwill.

 

光穗成林・美好義賣場域

 

本案為 2017 台灣室內設計週「美好關係」選品義賣展的布展場地設計，以「找回設計初心」作為空間核心。設計保留老倉庫挑高屋架、裸露管線與粗獷結構，並以竹枝、混凝土塊、金屬網架與溫暖燈光重新編織展場秩序。

 

大量直立竹枝如同稻穗、草叢與人群，形成可穿梭的美學地景；漂浮其上的灰色量體承載義賣選品，使物件不只是商品，而像被光照亮的心意。半透明網格界定展區，也讓視線持續滲透，象徵設計、公益與生活之間開放流動的關係。整體空間以粗獷與細膩、工業與手作、展示與互動之間的對比，營造出兼具溫度與層次的義賣場域，讓參觀者在行走、觀看與選物的過程中，重新感受設計回應社會、連結彼此的美好力量。
