Wanjin Azalea in Bloom

This installation is inspired by the azalea landscape of Wanjin, the historical memory of the Fish Road, and the material language of Geberit piping systems. It transforms water pipes into a landscape artwork that connects nature, culture, and sustainability.

Using recyclable HDPE pipes as the main material, the design forms a mountain-like base that echoes the rolling terrain of Wanjin and the blooming azalea scenery. The concept also responds to the idea of a sponge city, suggesting a system that can absorb, store, infiltrate, purify, and reuse rainwater. In this work, pipes are no longer hidden functional elements beneath the ground or inside walls. Instead, they become visible carriers of the relationship between water, plants, and land.

The rising and falling curves of the pipes reinterpret the movement of the Fish Road. Walking through the installation feels like passing through mountain paths and azalea fields, where Geberit’s piping technology becomes part of a poetic natural landscape.
